Johnny Yong Bosch was born on 6 January 1976, in Kansas City, Missouri, USA. He grew up in Garland, Texas. He is Korean from his mother’s side and German/Irish from his father’s side. He studied at the Garland High School. He is married to Amy Bosch.

He has done acting, voice acting, learnt martial arts and has interest in music. He is recognized for his acting in ‘Power Rangers‘ and giving voice to Vash the Stampede in the English version of ‘Trigun‘. He has also done voice over for the main protagonist “Ichigo Kurosaki“, of the series named ‘Bleach‘. He has voiced for ‘Code Geass’ as “Lelouch Lamperough“, in ‘The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya’ as “Itsuki Koizumi”, in ‘Wolf’s Rain’ as “Kiba” and in ‘Devil May Cry 4′ as “Nero“. He earned much notice for his role as “Adam Park” in ‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers‘. He has also appeared in the film ‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: the Movie’, which was a big hit, and earned more than $30 million at the box-office.

He has also done voice acting in ‘Akira’ (as Kaneda), ‘Last Exile’ (as Claus), ‘Heat Guy J’ (as Clair), ‘Witch Hunter Robin’ (as Sakaki), ‘Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad’ (as Yuji ‘Saku’ Sakurai) and ‘Tales of the Abyss’ (as Guy).

Bosch performed all his stunts, when he was filming for ‘Wicked Game’ (English- Extreme Heist), along with Jason Narvy and Paul Schrier, in 2002. He had to suffer from injuries while performing the stunts, his two ribs were cracked, his ankle was twisted and he was about to be hit by a truck. In spite of this, he did not leave filming for the movie.

He has a band named Eyeshine and he sings and plays guitar for the band. The band has other three members, Alex Orantes on bass & vocals, Maurice Salmin on drums and vocals and Danny Lee, the leading guitarist. In March 2009, it was announced that Alex Orantes and Danny Lee were leaving the band. Actually, the band came into existence, when Bosch and Maurice Salmin started writing and performing their own music, when they were working together in a church band. The first album of the band was named as ‘Red Stripes White Lights‘ and it was released in the spring of 2008. The band is currently working on their CD, named ‘Paper Kingdom‘.

He became the producer, writer and director with the film ‘Stray‘ in 2005. The film still has to undergo post- production, due his busy work schedule. In the next year, he worked on the film ‘Broken Path’, whose release date is not yet known. He shows off his Kendo skills, in the action film ‘Hellbinders‘.

He has done motion capturing and voiced for Nero in ‘Devil May Cry 4′. He has hosted the hit podcast ‘Anime TV’ at http://goanimetv.com. He has voiced for numerous video games such as ‘Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War’, ‘Bleach: Shattered Blade’, ‘Magna Carta II’, ‘Tales of the Abyss’ and ‘The Last Remnant’. He has also appeared in a documentary ‘Adventures in Voice Acting’ (as himself).
